As a Los Angeles wedding planner, I often hear couples talk about creating an unforgettable and elevated experience for guests. But how do we do this? I often think back to the amazing hospitality that I’ve experienced over the years at restaurants, on trips, or at events and note what stood out. Was it in the decor? The overall energy? The food? All of these things can play a part. I’ve rounded up 8 ways to elevate your Los Angeles wedding below to create an amazing experience for your guests.
Welcome Drinks
There’s nothing quite like being greeted upon arrival (anywhere) with a fresh beverage. Whether you’re serving bubbles, kombucha, or cold brew, your guests will feel like a VIP when offered something to sip while they mingle before the ceremony.
Custom Stationery
Custom wedding stationery is one of my favorite ways to level up your wedding details. A custom stationery package will include your invitation suite and all of your day of stationery like table numbers, place cards, and menus. Details like illustrations, crests, and unique prints are just a few ways your stationer can design something custom and representative of your style.
Specialty Linens
Opting for pattered or premium fabric linens is an easy way to make your wedding decor feel more luxe. I personally love using patterns that bring the overall wedding aesthetic together. Many Los Angeles wedding venues already have such gorgeous settings that you don’t need to overdo it. But a stripe, monochrome pattern, or luxe fabric like velvet is a great way to level up.
Upgraded Chairs
Upgraded wedding chairs will instantly make your decor feel elevated. Whether you’re hillside and opt for cross back farm chairs, or go for a more modern look with wishbone chairs, you’ll have a unique, elevated look. While this can get expensive the higher your guest count, you will definitely get the bang for your buck.
Live Music
For couples who have the budget for a live band, I am always on board. I always tell our couples that this is the number one investment for having an amazing party. There’s just something about the energy that a live band brings that can’t be matched. For couples who want to prioritize the party and dancing portion of the evening, a life band is a sure bet!
Welcome Party
If you are looking for a way to make your guests feel extra special, treat them to some small bites and drinks the night before the wedding. I love this option for destination weddings or for couples with a high amount of guests traveling from out of down. If your guests are committed to a weekend of celebrating you, they will love getting some time with you before the big day. I love keeping welcome parties on the informal side with freshly made pizza, or grazing boards so the focus can be on mingling and conversation.
Themed Attire
This is a newer trend we are seeing with couples this year. Couples who are heavily invested in the overall aesthetic of their wedding day want their guests to feel like they fit perfectly into the day. Couples are encouraging their guests with suggestions on attire from color palettes, to movie references and themes. Try not to think of it as a strict dress code but more of participating in the wedding theme! I’m excited to see more of this in real weddings next year!
Late Night Snack
We’ve all been there. You had an amazing meal, you’ve been hitting the dance floor and the bar, and that last hour or so of the wedding you need sustenance! Cue the late night snack! Your guests will love getting this surprise toward the end of the night. Something a little greasy like grilled cheese, or french fries is often just what your guests need to give them the extra boost to party until the music’s done.
