Love stories often unfold in unexpected places, and for Paige and David, it all began in the hallowed halls of Wake Forest University, where they were freshmen and members of the Wake Debate team. Fast forward to their December wedding day at the enchanting Carondelet House, a historic venue that perfectly captured the essence of their vision. In this blog post, we delve into the details of Paige and David’s special day, from their love story to the inspiration behind their unique wedding style.
Love Blooms at Wake Forest:
Paige and David’s love story started as freshmen at Wake Forest University, where they crossed paths on the first day of moving in. Both being members of the Wake Debate team, they found common ground that would lay the foundation for a lifetime of partnership and shared dreams.
Los Angeles Wedding Ceremony
The couple, known for hosting elaborate parties and get-togethers at their home, envisioned their wedding as an elevated version of one of their festive gatherings. Paige shared, “We wanted the night to be elegant/fancy without being stuffy. Festive without being Christmas-themed. And a night full of great food, laughter, music, dancing, and other surprise entertainment.”
Carondelet House stood out as the perfect venue for Paige and David. They sought an intimate setting, steering away from traditional hotel ballrooms. The historic charm of Carondelet House, once a residence, aligned perfectly with their vision of a fancy dinner party. The in-house caterer, Tres LA, with its award-winning reputation, sealed the deal for the couple.
Carondelet House Wedding Reception
Drawing inspiration from the historic house venue and their love for travel, Paige and David infused their wedding with an old-world charm. The Nutcracker’s opening party scene in Act I served as a visual inspiration, and they aimed for an atmosphere that was elegant, old-world, festive, and cozy. Candles, festive greenery, vintage postcard-themed invitations, and travel-inspired details added to the overall ambiance.
Paige and David incorporated several meaningful touches into their wedding day, from wrapping Paige’s bouquet in lace from her mother’s dress to wearing her grandmother’s earrings. Vintage postcard table numbers, custom-named drinks, a unique guest book alternative, and chocolates from David’s family’s chocolate factory in Mexico added personal touches to the celebration.
Paige and David’s wedding at Carondelet House was a perfect blend of elegance, sentimentality, and festive celebration. From the historic venue to the carefully chosen details, their special day was a reflection of their unique love story and shared vision for a memorable wedding. Cheers to Paige and David as they embark on this new chapter of their lives together!
