When Geena and Kasra first swiped right on each other on Hinge, little did they know it would lead to a wedding day as enchanting as their love story. Their journey from online dating to saying “I do” at the charming Lombardi House is a testament to their shared passions and unique style.

Geena and Kasra had been engaged for a year and were having trouble navigating wedding planning. They knew they needed a local wedding planner in Los Angeles and brought me on to manage full planning, design, and venue search.

“From the moment we spoke to Jessica, we knew she was the one for us,” Kasra said. “Jessica was direct and humbling, and she truly helped bring our vision to life,” Geena added.

Geena and Kasra’s wedding inspiration began with a burst of creativity and a sprinkle of Pinterest magic. While they initially toyed with the idea of a circus-themed wedding, their vision evolved into something equally spectacular but with a touch of romance and playfulness. When Geena stumbled upon Lombardi House on Pinterest, it was love at first sight. The venue’s picturesque suburban charm seemed like the perfect canvas for their romantic and playful wedding.

“We wanted our wedding to reflect who we are as a couple, blending our love for Disney with our travels and personal touches,” Geena shared.

The wedding day itself was nothing short of magical.

“Everyone told us they felt like they were in a postcard,” Geena reflected.

The ceremony was a highlight, particularly the moment they kissed for the first time as husband and wife and shared a romantic dip kiss down the aisle to the tune of “This Will Be.”

When it came to crafting the perfect design for their big day, Geena envisioned a romantic, Nancy Meyers-inspired aesthetic. Set against the enchanting backdrop of Lombardi House, the wedding embraced the charm of a classic Father of the Bride-style backyard celebration.

The floral magic orchestrated by Flowers by Lady Buggs, whose creations added a sweet and romantic touch to the day. From the lush, dreamy florals to the statement bar that became a guest favorite throughout the evening, every detail was meticulously curated. The color palette of blush, ivory, and cream wove seamlessly through the romantic blooms and elegant tablescapes, resulting in a warm and inviting atmosphere that perfectly reflected the couple’s vision and made their guests feel right at home.

Geena and Kasra’s wedding was brimming with personal touches that highlighted their personalities and interests. Disney-themed napkins featured their favorite quotes, a playful nod to their shared love for Disney. The dog cake topper, crafted to resemble their beloved dog, Chance, added a heartwarming detail. And, of course, trivia games were included to celebrate their love for fun and games with friends which had their guests laughing the whole evening.

As a wedding planner in Los Angeles, the first thing I always discuss with couples is priorities. From the start, Geena and Kasra wanted to put an emphasis on the menu. They didn’t want typical wedding food and instead wanted the menu to feel fun and include food they actually enjoy. Travel is such a huge part of their lives and the story of their relationship. I wanted to make sure we tied that aspect into the day in an impactful way. Enter Fundamental Events and a culinary tour of Geena + Kasra’s travels! The team at Fundamental worked with us to develop a custom menu of live action food stations. The custom menu told meaningful stories of the couple’s travels.
