Fall weddings in Los Angeles can often still feel like the height of summer. Our weather doesn’t always align with the rest of the country’s timing for sweater weather and cozy fall layers. But that doesn’t mean you can’t create a cozy fall vibe for your wedding day. Check out these 7 fall wedding ideas for your Los Angeles wedding.

  1. Cozy Blankets

Los Angeles fall weddings are usually still giving us warm weather into the evenings. But as we get into November and after daylight savings, evening wedding ceremonies can be accompanied by cooler temps. Keep your guests cozy and comfortable with soft blankets in different textures. I love draping these over ceremony chairs and benches, or having them tucked in baskets as part of the welcome area. Post ceremony, move blankets to any outdoor lounge areas where guests may visit for some fresh air later in the evening. Keeping your guests bundled and cozy gives all the fall feels!

2. Cider and Donuts

One thing I’ve experienced and loved from visiting my husbands hometown in Michigan is cider and donuts. This midwest fall favorite combo of hot apple cider and sugared donuts warm out of the oven has all the fall vibes. We may not always have the crisp fall weather of the midwest here in Los Angeles. But Angelenos will certainly appreciate this treat for a fall wedding in Los Angeles. Perfect for a a late night sweet treat.

3. Rich Colored Fall Florals

Los Angeles weddings are not naturally set with the beutiful colors of fall. Sadly we get very little changing leaves of the season. But that doesn’t mean you can’t achieve the look for your fall wedding. Your florist will know which blooms are in season and how to perfectly pair them to create rich fall florals. Plum, deep burgundy, and shades of mustard will mix beautifully with with neutrals like cream and blush. Personally I love this time of year when we get to create a bit darker and moody color palettes.

4. Spiced Cocktails

Bring in the flavors of the season for your fall Los Angeles wedding with fresh cocktails full of spices! Cranberry, cinnamon, clove, fig, and blood oranges are just a few things to work in to your seasonal specialty cocktails.

5. Pie for Dessert

Nothing says bring on the holiday season like fresh pie! Personally I’ve always loved pie over cake so this is a hell yes for me. I even served pie for my fall wedding years ago. There’s something comforting and cozy about fresh baked pie. Serve a variety of your favorite flavors for guests to choose from. Bonus points for a side of ice cream!

6. Twinkle Lights

Truth be told, I love twinkle lights year round for outdoor weddings in Southern California. But for fall weddings, twinkle lights and candles add an extra touch of cozy during a cool crisp evening reception.

7. Dried Florals

Incorporating dried florals into your fall wedding design will add texture and bring out the colors of the season. Whether you use full arrangements of dried flowers or work them in with fresh blooms, you’ll definitely get a rich fall look.
